Sandustry Mechanics A-Z
Every machine, material, tool and endgame system in Sandustry, in one index. Items with an in-depth guide are linked; the rest stay on this page and are expanded as new Early Access updates land.
Materials
Sand / Wet Sand
The starting resource. Wet sand feeds the Shaker to produce gold.
Guide →Gold
The main currency, used to unlock research. Produced by Shaker, Kinetic Press and Planter Box.
Guide →Residue (Slag)
Shaker by-product. Burn it into Burnt Residue, then press it for more gold and seeds.
Seed / Wet Seed
Plant chain: Seed + water = Wet Seed; wet seeds on a Planter Box grow flowers for gold and Amethelis.
Guide →Fluxite
Rare material for tool upgrades. Produced by the Flux Emanator from Voidbloom.
Guide →Copper
Mined from stone, smelted into liquid copper, poured into copper molds for rechargeable batteries.
Guide →Cinder
Frozen-broken lava. Burns into lava to power smelters and steam generation.
Guide →Lava
Ultimate heat source. Transport it frozen as Scoria/Cinder.
Guide →Water / Snow
Water feeds steam turbines and the seed chain; snow keeps condensers running.
Guide →Auralite
Endgame aura material tied to the Aura Extractor and aura circle.
Guide →Core Machines
Shaker
Processes wet sand into gold and residue. The first production machine you build.
Guide →Kinetic Press
Pressing machine that converts burnt residue into more gold and seeds.
Guide →Planter Box
Grows wet seeds into flowers, harvested for gold and Amethelis.
Guide →Seed Washer
Cleans seed input before it reaches the planter lane.
Guide →Filter (Basic / Advanced)
Sorts items by type. Basic handles solids; Advanced handles solids, liquids and gases.
Smelter + Thermal Buffer
Melts materials like copper using heat from a lava pool.
Guide →Copper Mold
Filled with liquid copper to become a rechargeable battery.
Guide →Steam Turbine
Generates energy from steam produced by heating water; needs snow on top.
Guide →Energy Connector
Links turbines to filled batteries and powered buildings.
Snowmaker
Converts water into snow to keep condensers supplied.
Guide →Logistics
Conveyor Belt
Horizontal transport. Drag to set direction; Mark 2 speeds up later.

Catch basin that only lets gold through.
Vacuum
Sucks up loose materials. Uses energy.

Flamethrower
Melts ice into water, re-ignites lava, heats processors.
Guide →Cryo Gun
Freezes liquids: lava becomes Scoria, which breaks into Cinder.
Guide →Rocket Launcher
The only reliable way to break Crackstone. Also good for napalm steam generation.
Guide →Drill
Extracts materials embedded in stone, including copper.
